After the terror regimes of Obote and Idi Amin the persecution of
Christians has come to an end. The former underground churches are
growing very fast. Through intensive missionary outreaches, many new churches
are founded all over Africa. Steven Ogwang, musician and teacher,
started the choir in 1980 and has led the group, which consists of
about 30 singers, since then. The program of the choir consists of
self composed and traditional songs from different tribes, cultures
and languages. Their presentations are accompanied by local
instruments, complemented by dances and personal testimonies of their
faith. They encourage people to participate. The joyful and authentic
testimony of their living faith in Jesus Christ is touching and
encouraging.
